Camryn has danced since she was five years old, but it was not until she was nine that she discovered her love for singing and acting. Over the years, she has participated in stage productions, film acting, and music venue performances.
Most recently in her acting career was her lead role in “Blink Of An Eye” – a short film addressing the heroin epidemic that is plaguing our nation. Her character portrayed a young dancer who injured her knee and became addicted to opioids. Camryn became very instrumental in the making of the film. From suggesting film locations, to helping choose the film’s musical score and sound effects, to singing the title track, “If I Get High,” originally by Nothing But Thieves, and even marketing the film, Camryn was very hands on in the making of this important project. In May 2017, she travelled to New York City to sing the title track at the “Drug Free World Gala.” Camryn lost an aunt to an overdose, and understands how devastating addiction is. She believes prevention and true understanding of mental and physical health is extremely necessary in stopping this horrific epidemic.
Camryn is well known in her community for performing the national anthem at numerous sporting events and other community activities around Western New York. (NFL, NHL, MILB, KeyBank Center, USA Hockey, local colleges, etc.) She believes that it is a privilege to sing this patriotic song to honor our country.
Throughout her career, she has earned several titles and awards. Most recently, she was the winner of the Buffalo Sings Contest Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. She will be a featured soloist at several of their summer events this year.
Camryn has performed in musicals and plays throughout most of her life, and even participated in an off-off broadway production. Her music career is now taking primary focus, as she soon enters Belmont University as a commercial music voice major. She performs in various venues locally, whether it be a coffee house, restaurant, store, etc.
“Music is my outlet for my emotions and I do not know how I would get through the day without it.”
She also believes wholeheartedly in people using their talents to help others. She is the founder of a fundraising organization called Backyard Broadway – a group of performers who wish to give back, using their God-given talents through theatre performances, cabaret style venues, and fundraising events. Since the age of nine, she has conducted dozens of events and raised over $50,000 for children and families affected by long term illnesses.
Camryn stays true to her faith and wants to be a role model for kids and young adults. She is a member of her church’s and high school’s worship teams and is also the lead female vocalist in her band, Joyful Noise.
She believes that, “God has given us all certain gifts that are to be used for the greater good. It is important to be grateful and appreciative of what we have, because there is always someone out there that is going through something even more difficult than we are. Without Him we would be nothing.” Being Christian is what keeps her grounded as she enters the world of entertainment.
